I shocked myself

I shocked even myself, wanting another tattoo. But I did, and had given a lot of thought to what might be the second piece of ink that I would live with for the rest of my life might be. I wanted it to be personal and to have meaning.

In ancient Chinese and Indian mythology, the lotus flower symbolizes spiritual awakening and is an integral part of tattoo designs in Chinese, Japanese and Indian cultures. Another meaning for the lotus flower is growing beautiful and strong in the most unfavorable situations. there are other meanings associated with feminine beauty, but the growing strong was the meaning that spoke the loudest to me. My flower is a deep red, and it's on my left hip.

Underneath, an Italian saying: tutti nel suo tempo... all in its time. A reminder that there's beauty and growth during the challenging times and when I'm ready, the universe will take note. A reminder that timing is everything in life, and despite the impatience that fills me on occasion, things happen the way they are supposed to, and in their own time.
