Garden Plans

Each year, I try to keep a sketch of the garden so I can track what was planted where for crop rotations. Here are the plans for both of the gardens I am working on. As I thought, it's been quite interesting to see the differences in the areas (Woodinville vs. Seattle). In Woodinville, I harvested 3 jalapenos (oddly early), 4 bunches of french breakfast radishes, 1 bunch of spinach, 2 small bunches of swiss chard last week. The weather is finally beginning to improve, and I will unwrap the tomatoes. The squash- zucchini, delicata and kabocha- have all germinated and started to grow. The beans- Christmas Lima, Jacob's Gold, and Gold of Bacua- have also germinated and are growing. I was gifted another tomato plant, and bought another; I don't know why I can't walk past a tomato without buying it!

In Seattle, things are moving a little slower. The beans- Italian bush, snow peas, green beans- have all germinated and are growing. The beets, carrots, spinach and tomatoes are doing good as well. The potato box with fingerlings is ready for another layer of soil, and looking good. The zucchini and picking cucumbers didn't germinate for some reason; I will be doing some re-seeding here this weekend.

The weather has finally started to bring us some warmer weather and sunshine. With the extremely mild winter we had, we know it will likely be a cooler and shorter summer.
