Wine & Food. Wine & Music. Wine & Art.. Wine is so versatile, it goes with everything! I was flattered to be asked to attend the Chateau St Michelle Artist Series dinner with my friend and former neighbor, Jeff. His wife doesn't enjoy wine, and Jeff really wanted to attend this dinner, and invited me to be his date- lucky me! The weather was gorgeous, as I arrived at the Chateau. We began with bubbly and hors d'oeurves, chatting and admiring the display of Dale Chihuly glass. The Artist Series wines are bordeaux blends that are released annually, and each year a new local artist has the honor of displaying their artwork on the vintage. This dinner was a celebration of 15 years of the Artist Series wines.

We moved to the tasting room for glasses of Eroica Riesling, a beautiful cheese display and more art to admire. Many of the past artists were in attendance, and mingling among the guests. Finally, we moved to dinner but not before admiring all the previous vintages on display..

The dinner was 3 courses, all exceptionally prepared. Our pairings for the evening included an Ethos Chardonnay, and with the main course, 5 vintages of Artist Series- '98, '01, '03, '05, and '06. A rich chocolate and cherry dessert brought the unveiling of the 2007 vintage. A delicious evening of food, wine and friendship.
