People are amazing.

People amaze me every day. Admittedly, a lot of the time they amaze me because of their stupidity or carelessness with others hearts. But lately, people are amazing me with their kindness, generosity and love. I had an amazing garden, that was filled with vegetables and brought me so much happiness. Each year, it expanded to include more space and my knowledge was expanded as well. When I left our home, I also left behind my garden. It filled me with such sadness!

In my haze of the break up, I had the wherewithal to get myself on pea patch waiting lists for the both the City of Seattle and 21 acres, a community garden space in Woodinville. And then sometime in January, some friends casually mentioned that they would be traveling all summer, and maybe their garden would be available.. Hmm.. really?!

We recently met for a garden planning lunch, along with two other friends of theirs. The three of us will be sharing the house and space for the 9 weeks while they're traveling this summer. We'll create a calendar for when we'll be at the house- chicken sitting, egg gathering, gardening, and spreading out in the back patio in the summer days. Summer plans are shaping up nicely... and I sit back and am amazed at how people offer you such opportunities, and am so very thankful to have some garden space of my own to look forward to.
