Oh, I said this season I wasn't going to do any canning.. I had a good assortment of jams from last season left, and since it's only me, I am not going through it all as quickly. But it's just SO hard for me not to can-- to pass up gorgeous fruit at the market..
Cherry jam? It may be the most delicious, as well as the messiest. Maybe it tastes so good because I know how long it takes to pit each and every cherry... So, for the girl who said she wasn't going to can this year? There's tayberry with cassis jam, strawberry jam, apricot jam, and cherry jam. Ahem, that would be roughly 24 jars of jam. As the summer is coming quickly to a close (sadly, I am just not ready), there's peaches, pickles and tomatoes to can, and peppers to roast for the freezer. I refuse to stop canning (and cooking. and well, opening nice bottles of wine) because it's only me..
