It had been nearly two years since I've gone back to Atlanta to visit my family- way too long without seeing them.. So, I planned a trip around the kiddos summer vacation and a little side trip up to visit friends in Asheville. Jasmine is nearly 11, Dylan is days away from 6, and Aiden is 2 1/2. 5 days with the family, and here are some of my favorite things (besides seeing those I love, of course!)
- Jasmine singing Train's 'Hey, Soul Sister' word for word in the car
- Dylan is a kisser and cuddler
- Aiden giving me a wide berth (in case I bit him), but frequently saying 'look, Aunty Chelle'
- Jasmine proclaiming that I will find another boyfriend soon, and that she's a little old to be a ringbearer, would have to be a bridesmaid
- Cicadas, a raucous thunderstorm, and fireflies--reminders of my youth growing up in the south
- GNO: girls night out with Jasmine and my sister
- Walking through old trains at the train depot museum with Dylan
- Finally getting a hug and kiss from Aiden as I am leaving
- Setting Jasmine up with her first email account
- Aiden's laughter- so sweet a sound
- Seeing how much Dylan has improved with his speech and behavior ( due to hearing issues)
It's hard to be so far away from these beautiful little darlings, missing the day to day of watching them grow..
